Lancaster Arts is thrilled to welcome Action Hero back to the the Nuffield Theatre.
On stage is a small sound booth; inside sits a woman, alone. A voice-over artist. Off stage, two disembodied voices ask her to conjure different voices for commercials.
The Talent is a new show by Action Hero and Deborah Pearson about the voice and human presence in the 21st Century. Where does the voice live? How will her voice live on, outside her body, if it can take on a life of its own? The Talent asks what kind of ghosts will haunt us when we’re gone, and what the legacy of the human voice might be in a non-human future.
Action Hero is the hugely respected collaboration between artists Gemma Paintin and James Stenhouse, who create artworks that expand across artforms — performance, installation, sound and digital — and have toured work to over 40 countries across five continents.
