Are You Lost? Creative Conversations on Land and Access in Bowland

Are You Lost? Creative Conversations on Land and Access in Bowland

Events

CHANGE OF VENUE: Please be aware that this event will now take place at The Gregson Centre rather than the Friends Meeting House as previously advertised. The event will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Bring your curiosity about art, access, nature and Bowland and be part of shaping an arts project in the Forest of Bowland called Are You Lost? with artist Rob St John as part of Nature Calling.

Are you curious about the Forest of Bowland? Do you spend time outdoors? What gets in the way of you being in nature?

Rob is working with Lancaster Arts to offer conversations and creative activity over Winter 2024 and Spring 2025, contributing to a series of film, textile and sound art installations across the Forest of Bowland in the summer of 2025.

Please bring an object that connects you to a place, feeling, memory or history in Bowland (or beyond) for discussion with the group.

Rob is an artist and writer based in rural Lancashire. His practice is focused on the blurrings of nature and culture in contemporary landscapes. He works primarily across installation, sound, moving image and text. He will be joined by Esther Davis, a regenerative farmer in Bowland and socially engaged artist, and James Fox, a textile artist and land ownership researcher.

All attendees will receive a copy of a print, created by Rob, featuring all the plant and animal related place names in Bowland, aligned along the course of the River Hodder.
