“The bird a nest, the spider a web, (hu)man friendship”
William Blake

Join artist Henna Asikainenfor an afternoon exploring stories and feelings relating to movement, migration, belonging and home in the context of her exhibition, Lintukoto / Haven

Lintukoto is an idea from Finnish mythology: a warm, safe havenlocated at the far edge of the world where sky and earth meet. A paradise-like, mythical place where birds migrate to spend the cold winter season.

During the workshop, we will use natural materials to create nests as a way of thinking together and sharing ideas and stories relating to movement, migration, and making home– come and share yours, however long or short the distance travelled.

All materials provided.

Henna is a Finnish artist based in the UK. Her artwork is concerned with humans’ complex relationship with nature and its intersections with social justice, climate justice, migration and notions of belonging. Her project has been supported by Arts Council England and the Finnish Institute.
