This event is an external event and not part of the Lancaster Arts season.
Six talented choirs who have reached the prestigious finals of Lancashire Choir of the Year 2023, will perform live in the Great Hall for the chance to become the winning choir for 2023. The concert will be an evening to highlight and celebrate the singing talent within Lancashire, and will be compered by vocalist Tim Uffindell.
The choirs performing are:
Blackburn People's Choir
The Capricorn Singers
Clitheroe Parish Church Amateur Operatic Dramatic Society - Show Choir
Nelson Civic Ladies' Choir
Valley Aloud Community Choir
Whitworth Community Choir
A judging panel of experienced musicians including; Saphena Aziz (Director of Inclusion at Curious Minds), Jane Irwin (professional soloist), Matthew Thomas (Musical Director of last year's winners, Rossendale Male Voice Choir), and County Councillor Phillippa Williamson (leader of Lancashire County Council) will be in the audience to assess their performances and select the prize winners.
The winning choir and runners-up will be announced on the night, culminating with the crowning of the Lancashire Choir of Year 2023.
