An important collaboration between Ludus Dance and the Nuffield Theatre, Dance Cuts 2010 is a weekend-long opportunity to see the most exciting emerging and developing dance artists from across the region, as well as take part in workshops and panel sessions to help launch your dance career.
The weekend launches with Turn Out (Sat 24 April), featuring 3 highlights from Green Room Manchester's 2009 Turn Festival. This dance triple bill encompasses a range of styles and subjects: an intense exploration of male friendship (On Even Ground by Resonance Dance Company) a depiction of women trapped in a void (Epilogue by Maelstrom Dance Company) and a vivid battle with the demons of addiction (Cover by Eight Eyes).
On Sunday the 25th April, we have a jam packed programme of events: young artists can take part in workshops and perform short extracts of their work. In addition, find out what it takes to work in the world of dance through a panel session hosted in collaboration with the Grow Creative Project at Lancaster University. In the evening, starting at 8pm, the Dance Cuts Platform showcases a fantastic range of dance film, installation and contemporary choreography from the North West (see event schedule for full info)
If you are interested in creating your own work, learning more about developing as a professional artist or simply want to see the best of the new work created in the North West, do not miss the Dance Cuts weekend!
