When was the last time you had a conversation with a stranger?
Join us at LANDING from 28-30 June at The Battery in Morecambe to take part in No Such Thing.
The offer is simple: we buy you lunch in exchange for a short conversation. We create a menu of questions to choose from and talk about what’s happening in the world, in our lives and stuff that’s playing on our minds. There’s always a ‘Today’s Special’ from that day’s news.
The conversations are one-to-one, lasting half an hour(ish). You’ll eat with a host at an outside table behind the beach café at The Battery, Morecambe. We’ll guide you to the right spot once you are booked in!
Very limited places. First come, first served…
This version of NO SUCH THING is part of LANDING, a co-commission by Lancaster Arts and We Live Here, which focuses on art, ecology and community, seeking to build deeper connections between people and the natural environments around us.
No Such Thing was originally devised by Manchester-based company Quarantine, who started it in 2012 and over 10 years had around 500 conversations in the curry cafe, Kabana in Manchester city centre. In 2022, they decided to pass on their experience and techniques to allow partners across the UK and beyond to deliver the project. Lancaster Arts got on board in 2023, having conversations in eateries around Lancaster.
