A double bill of new work from the North West featuring a perfromance from Angel Club (north) and a stunning installation by Juliet Ellis.
Angel Club (north): Obstacles to Coming Home.
Two performers conclude an epic road trip across America, recounting their memories and stories, unsure as to whether they even left home. Obstacles to Coming Home examines nostalgia, personal journeys and a search for a place to call home. Formed in Preston in 2003, the company's first work Angel Club (north) was selected for the National Review of Live Art, Glasgow 2004. Obstacles to Coming Home is supported by Method Lab and the University of Central Lancashire.
Juliet Ellis: hidden thread
In this video and performance installation, Juliet Ellis walks through the streets of a city mapping out her journey, leaving a footprint, a singular action, unplanned traces. A performance existing through the mapping of memories and time, using places as a point of departure. Surrounded by sublime repeated images of a city, the audience are invited to unravel her knitted dress. Juliet has collaborated with Graham Clayton-Chance to create the stunning visuals for hidden thread.
