Community Picnic
You are warmly invited to join our unrestricted celebration picnic to take a stand against the narrowing of our social worlds!
Arm yourself with sandwiches and squash join us in a really-open OPEN15 picnic from 11am -2pm. This event was conceived in collaboration with the Centre for Disability Research to combat the ways in which children and young people with disabilities often find themselves excluded from Birthday parties and other social occasions. The event is wheel chair accessible and open to everyone of all ages and ability.

Clay and Collage: Sensory Art
Explore tactile and sensory ways of making art and challenge the notion of what art can be. This activity is led by local artist Danielle Ash who will be drawing upon her experience working with blind and visually impaired communities to engage with art in meaningful and relevant ways.
Knitting with Plastic: Making and Collective Fractal
Bring along a plastic bag and learn how to knit with it! Artist Macarena Rioseco Castillo invites you to contribute to her project to make a ‘Granny Square’ quilt using plastic bags. Join Macarena’s workshop to learn how to transform them into a wonderful knitted patch.
