For Festival of Questions, artists Laurence Payot and Ailie Rutherford have worked with Lancaster residents to explore the idea of human rights in practice, creating a set of actions and questions to be presented in the streets during the festival.
People Pavilion is a wearable and mobile structure for groups of people to use and create temporary interventions in the public realm; at times a space for sharing knowledge, asking questions, or protesting... its function is defined by the people who take part.
Drawing on methodologies used by left-wing and anarchist groups such as consensus decision making and participatory democracy in action, artists Laurence Payot and Ailie Rutherford are testing out how artists can truly share ownership of their work through active participation.
