Lancaster Arts offers a rare opportunity to experience theatre in Lancaster University’s unique Jack Hylton Room, as Samuel Rees and Gabriele Uboldi present Lessons on a Revolution, astory about change, how it happens, and how we talk about it. Lessons on Revolution brings the most significant protest of a generation to life through the voices of those who lived it.

1968, London School of Economics. Three thousand students occupy a lecture hall, demanding the university cut ties with apartheid-era Rhodesia. Tensions escalate as the students fight for radical change while the administration pushes back. The world watches, waiting to see who will blink first.

2024,Two friends and flatmates try to work out what radical change means today, searching through archives, photos, first-hand accounts.

Gabriele Uboldi is a multidisciplinary artist and producer making work about cities, queerness, and storytelling. They head award-winning company Undone Theatre.

Samuel Rees is co-artistic director of Carmen Collective. His work has been performed in venues across the country to critical acclaim.
