Join us for a fascinating, free presentation on the everyday lives of the residents of the Mill Race area over 150 years from the 1820s through to the 1950s.
Using snippets of history, The People of the Mill Race pieces together aspects of what it was like to live in this part of the city. It also examines sources and avenues that allow us to glimpse into the lives of those inhabitants left out of the history books.
Rachel Roberts, the Collections Registrar with Lancaster City Museums has been researching this area's history for the Lancaster High Streets Heritage Action Zone. This event is part of the cultural programme called Mill Race: Flow of Change. Alongside Rachel's presentation, Alice Booth, the Creative Producer at Lancaster Arts will describe the new commission Flow: Marking the Mill Race and how you can take part!
