Join us on Zoom to meet artists exploring how utopias, social and climate issues, imagined places and idealism relate to their practice followed by a live Q+A.
Julia McKinlay incorporates material processes that mimic nature and question the boundaries between nature and the human-made. Her work takes the form of collections that expand and contract within the space available. Working primarily in sculpture, print and drawing, previous works have represented the edge of the world, the surface of a snail’s shell and an obscure garden.
McKinlay is an artist, curator and researcher and is currently an Artist Curator at Threshold in Leeds, an outdoor space for exhibitions of sculpture.
