Jasmir investigates ideas of utopia and dystopia, of home and displacement exploring alienation and merging of cultures through her expressionistic paintings. She takes inspiration from the lives of South Asian people leaving their homeland in search of utopia in Britain and is a PhD researcher at the Slade School of Fine Art.
